A huge big airy restaurant with a nice big round bar sitting right in the middle. A great place to meet friends for lunch or happy hour in a great downtown location. A great wine list too with lots of sandwiches and bar food options.

We were in town for meetings and a convention and enjoyed Purple so much we ate here twice! The book of wine is amazing and I loved the option of "duos", which are two half glasses, and give the opportunity to try two paired wines. We had an assortment of starters at both visits and all were excellent but the baked brie and stuffed dates were the ones we ordered twice. The Dungeness crab pasta was delicious! The ricotta and crab went together nicely. The short rib pasta was delicious as well, but definitely a richer, heavier dish than the crab pasta. Desserts were good; we enjoyed the creme brûlée. Service was excellent and the servers knew the menu and wine list well. The atmosphere is modern and industrial with an impressive wine tower in the middle of the dining room. Definitely would come back on a future visit!

We came to celebrate my birthday while visiting Seattle and it was a nice change. I don't know how to describe it, but the decor didn't give off what one would think of a typical Seattle vibe, but rather a romantic gothic one with dark metal and high ceilings. We were seated right away and the food was amazing. We had the Dungeness crab pasta, the squid ink pasta, and the burger with fries. I really like the crab pasta; it was rich with generous lumps of crab. The squid ink pasta was good, I thought the shrimp perfect but didn't realize the arrabbiata sauce had a smoky flavor to it. The star of the night was the creme brulee. The custard was perfect- not overcooked, with a rich vanilla flavor. Cracking the caramelized sugar on top was the best! This made my birthday weekend!

Food: - Spicy prawns: got this to start and it was super delicious. The best part was the broth that you dip the toasted bread in. Spicy but somehow creamy and/or buttery. Reminds me of Killer Shrimp in Los Angeles. (Five stars) - bistro burger: decent burger, decent fries. Nothing special but good. (Four stars) - Fremont double IPA: really good. Tasty, nothing off or offensive, and packs a nice wallop. Service: Our server was a bit off. At first I thought he was the preliminary guy who fills water cuz he didn't ask for a drink order or anything. I had to eventually ask him to take our drink order. That theme continued throughout the night. I appreciated the space he gave us, but I think he took it to an extreme. He was super nice, but it just struck me a little strange. A lot of little delays.

Incredible spot. Right from the get go it's a thrilling experience for dinner. The outdoor greets you with a purple sign showing through the tree leaves and an impressive gigantic industrial-ish door. Get inside and right away you do notice the famous tower of wine as well as that this place is hopping! Every member of the front staff is fantastic - professional, friendly, over the top service. Love love love the interior with the high ceiling and twinkling lights on the back wall. For sure a great "night out" spot. Starters and dinner were both delicious and prepared with creativity and care. For myself, I had the lamb chops - and can easily say it was the best lamb I've had for over a decade (I mean this. I can count on one hand the amazing lamb dishes so I remember the last one very distinctly!). My only letdown was the desserts which seemed like a bit of a throwaway compared to the other courses. I would say they are not the focus nor the show stoppers. Being a night out spot, I think the focus is apps and entrees. When the dessert came I immed thought they looked like they were in microwave containers so presentation not so great. Esp when compared to the mind blowing experience of everything that came prior. Highly recommend for a special night or any night - if you can afford it.

Beautiful restaurant and bar - lovely ambiance and vibe. Perfect for celebrations and date nights! The servers are very helpful in recommending drinks and food. While it is a wine bar, they have a good cocktail menu as well - refreshing and delicious. Food is exquisite. The appetizers have something unique about them - beetroot poke was a big surprise and almost looked and tasted like Tuna but so delicious and such a good option for vegetarians. The pesto pasta is delicious and freshly prepared with rich flavour of pesto. Topped it all off with peach sorbet and chocolate. Definitely a must visit.

The wine here was great, staff had good knowledge of the options on the menu. I really liked that they offered a pairing of two half glasses that were comparable wines you can taste side by side. The food was ok. The fries I got with my burger were definitely not fresh which is why can't give 5 stars. Would go back but primarily for the wine tasting.
